Compare running data across apps and devices
Compare your recordings. Challenge other runners.
Understand your own workouts across apps and devices, then bring your competitive side to community challenges and competition leaderboards.
One run, two recordings.
Sample data only, not real runner activity or a claim about a particular device. Both recordings use elapsed time; absent fields are not filled in.
| Metric | A: Watch A · sample recording | B: App B · sample recording | Calculated difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Distance (km) | 5 | 5.1 | +0.1 |
| Pace (sec/km) | 360 | 350 | -10 |
| Time (sec) | 1800 | 1785 | -15 |
| Average heart rate (bpm) | 150 | 153 | +3 |
| Cadence (per min) | 170 | 174 | +4 |
| Calories (kcal) | 320 | 328 | +8 |
| Elevation (m) | 60 | 64 | +4 |
Recorded time: A elapsed, B elapsed. Pace basis: A elapsed, B elapsed. Different or unknown time definitions prevent direct time and pace comparisons. Elevation requires a matching definition. Different activities are not treated as equivalent.
Compare the same run across devices
Suppose a watch records 5.00 km while an app records 5.08 km for the same outing. Keep both source-labeled versions and inspect the 0.08 km difference. Confirm they cover the same start and finish and use the same time definition. Add the second recording to the existing workout when the import form flags a possible match.
Combine running history from different apps
A watch change should not erase your reference point. Save workouts from each source and choose comparable sessions in the app. An easy outdoor run and a hard treadmill workout are not a controlled comparison, even when their distances match.
Compare Strava and Garmin running data
Bring your recorded stats through manual entry or readable screenshots; Garmin Connect also provides GPX exports that the current parser can read. These are user-supplied inputs, not direct account integrations. GPX distance and pace are calculated from track points and elapsed timestamps, so they may differ from an app summary.
Compare Garmin and Apple Watch workout stats
Use a Garmin Connect export or summary and the visible values from an Apple Fitness workout recorded on Apple Watch. Apple Watch is the device; Apple Fitness is the summary source. There is no Apple Health authorization or automatic access to a watch.
Compare with other runners on competition leaderboards
The Compare screen helps you inspect your own workouts or alternate recordings side by side. To measure yourself against other people, explore shared activity on the World Dashboard and competition leaderboards. Create a challenge with friends or other registered runners, pick group distance, individual distance, average pace or most runs, and track results from shared workouts during its dates.
Compare like with like
The comparison table converts miles to kilometres, pace to seconds per kilometre, and feet to metres. Elapsed time includes pauses; moving time does not. Unknown or different time definitions prevent a time or pace difference from being presented as directly comparable. Different activity types are flagged.
Source values, corrections and calculations
Saved imports retain observed values separately from the editable, confirmed workout values. Comparisons use confirmed values and label calculated differences. Missing data is explicit. Source-provider readiness, recovery and training-load scores are not treated as interchangeable and are not part of the current importer.
